About

Hi there!

My name is Jackie Nash and I’m a fabricator specializing in model making for stop motion animation. Most recently I worked as a model maker for Laika Studios, and I’ve also worked with award winning studios such as Shadowmachine, HouseSpecial and Hornet Inc in NYC. I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I explored my love of animation and themed entertainment design.

Although I’ve worked in stop motion for the past five years, I love all kinds of fabrication-big and small. I’m particularly drawn to fabricating for entertainment, whether that be for film, television, theater, or theme parks. I love being able to create work that helps to tell a story, or supports a narrative in some way, shape, or form (literally). I’m currently volunteering at Northpole Studios, where I’m assisting a project to build large parade paper mache puppets-something I’ve never done before!

I’m constantly working to improve my skills, and learn new ones! I also love taking classes, and you can often find me signed up for a new sewing class with the Portland Fashion Institute, or for some other crafting or fabrication based class (I’ve taken welding, woodworking, and lathing classes in the past!).

Model making and fabrication is my first love, but I also love being able to provide support to artists, departments, and a project as a whole. I’m very responsible, organized, and communicative, and would love to stretch those muscles in the near future, whether that be on stop motion projects, or other fabrication or entertainment projects.

When I’m not working you can find me catching up on the latest movies, playing softball, or trying a new restaurant or food cart!

I’m currently available for work, and would love to do more model making and fabrication, or try my hand at set dressing or production support roles such as coordinating or PA work. You can contact me through the site here, or email me at jackienash.art@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
